Detailed description of Hartland Glenn Golf Course, North Course

Hartland Glenn Golf Course is a Public, 36 hole golf facility located in Hartland, Michigan. The facility has two 18-hole golf courses, they are: The North Course and The South Course.

_______________________________

The North Course is the older of the two courses. It first opened for play in 1972. The course was designed by Kevin Sustick.

The North Course is more forgiving than the South Course. It is a links-style course that has numerous well-positioned sand bunkers and water hazards coming into play on six holes.

The North Course measures 6,287 yards from the tips and plays to a par of 71.

_______________________________

The South Course opened for play in 1989. The course was designed by George Duke.

The South Course is a shot makers dream with doglegs, ponds, wetlands, and tree-lined fairways to negotiate. The South Course was built in the woods. It features undulating fairways and large, slightly sloped greens.

The North Course measures 6,030 yards from the tips and plays to a par of 71.

Driving by Hartland Glen GC and saw the North course under serious construction. Talked to my son in Waterford, MI about it and he said, "They are taking away nine (9) North holes and building apartments/condos". This will make it a twenty-seven (27) hole layout with the South 9 staying intact as it was. They will change the scorecard to three (3) layouts as being: Red Course; 3,262yds Par 37, Blue Course; 3,187yds Par 36, White Course; 2,665yds Par 34. So far the course hasn't reopened yet because of snow. See their Facebook page for more information.

November 18 in Michigan and its 68 degrees........we're golfing. What a afternoon with a warm breeze, sun shining, leaves blowing across a few greens/fairways to shaggy conditions but ideal weather. This links style course is normally in great condition and having a lot of fairway/green side traps to keep things interesting. Greens were rolling still very true and smooth for the 6-7 speed considering the overall conditions. Front 9 (3,130yds/Par 35) is the mostly open layout with #4 being the tough driving hole having water on the RH side. Back 9 (3,167yds/Par 36) gets more tree lined fairways from the tee boxes which add a little more pressure. The #10 & #17 are position driving holes if you want to make par, so stay in the middle at all cost. Paid $23 for 18/cart and shot 43/39 w/39 putts with son Jeremy having 40/44 w/32 putts on this great November day. Great 36 hole course and being located 2 miles from intersection of 23/59 is easy highway golf if you're in the area.
